Otterville

Visit the historic village of Otterville in Oxford County.  


The South Norwich Historical Society has led the initiative to preserve a number of historical sites in Otterville.  A number or these sites will be open during the studio tour on November 16 & 17.   Explore the 1845 Grist Mill, Otterville Grand Trunk Railway Station Museum and Woodlawn, the 1861 Octagonal Cottage. Other points of historical interest (but not open on the weekend) are the African Methodist Episcopal Cemetery and St. John's Church.  The unique Otterville Park across the footbridge is too beautiful to miss!

Getting to Otterville

From London, ON  Take Hwy. 401 east to Hwy. 19 south towards Tillsonburg.  At Ostrander (County Rd. 19) turn left and follow this scenic route through Springford and on to Otterville.

From Toronto, ON   Take Hwy 401 west to Woodstock and take Hwy. 59 south.  Continue driving for about 20 km.  After passing through Burgessville and Norwich you will arrive at the Otterville Road.  Turn right and you will soon be in Otterville.

From Hamilton, ON    Take the 403 through Brantford to the exit called Rest Acres Rd. ( #24 ) head South. At the Scotland stoplight turn right onto Oakland Rd. West ( Rd. #4 )At the first stop sign (flashing light) turn left onto Simcoe St. Turn right on the second street , Brant County Rd. # 3. Drive 18 km. to the stoplight in Norwich and turn left on to Stover St. which is Highway 59 South.  Follow Hwy. 59 about 10 km and turn right on Otterville Road and you will soon be in Otterville.
